Our Lab is testing the properties of fabrics that we process, including color evaluation and determines fabrics performance for specific end uses. Our testing procedures are standardized as being part of our ISO 9001:2000 quality system and are based on CATCC/ AATCC or ASTM Test Methods. We develop customized dyeing and finishing procedures, as part of R&D program.
Capabilities
Color matching to a requested master color.
Consumers usually are more concerned with color than with any other characteristic of a textile product. This is why we focus on developing the color using the color prediction from Data Color Spectrophotometer, programmed dyeing procedures from Ahiba (Infra Red) rotary lab dyeing machine and the know how from chemical engineers, specialized in textiles.
We have an excellent repeatability of color from lab to production!
We test in the lab the fabric dyed in production, including the Spectrophotometer color readings and colorfastness.
We perform various tests, based on customers' requests, like Spray test, Soxhlet Solvent Extraction, Flammability Test, Dynamic Water Absorbtion, Shrinkage at laundering and at heat.
Spray Test for the evaluation of water repellency finish.
90% or higher rating is usually requested for aramid fabrics for good ballistic properties.
Soxhlet extraction for the evaluation of residual oils and waxes from scoured fabrics.
Low extractables are requested and monitored when synthetic fabric (aramid or nylon for air bags) has to be finished (i.e. water repellent finish) or coated.
Flammability test is performed on cotton fabrics finished with flame retardant finish or Nomex (DuPont), which must maintain the flame resistant properties after dyeing and finishing processes.
